The Spiritual Side of Hunting
Grandfather taught Tom that, “All beings share the same spark of life and spirit; and in death, the lives of hunter and hunted are forever joined.” With that in mind, Tom designed this magnificent class to take each student well beyond the physical aspects of hunting and into the deep and spiritual realms of; understanding, preparation, respect, thanksgiving, and the whole relationship and heartfelt communion between man and animal. “One moment the animal is our teacher, the next moment he is our food.”
Note: Before you can volunteer for a class, you must have taken it first. Click here for more information on volunteering.
Volunteers are a vital part of making each class a success. Having graduates of a class available to answer questions and help out in workshops is of tremendous value to current students, and provides a much larger pool of people they can turn to for assistance. As well, volunteers help to prepare and serve meals, head up the student crews and assist Instructors and Interns in lecture and workshop preparation - all of which are essential when it comes to keeping classes running smoothly. And don't forget, whenever you're not needed as a helper, we encourage you to sit in on the lectures and participate in the exercises and workshops. It's a great way to brush up on your skills, or discover what you may have missed the first time around!
