Grandfather's Philosophy on Aging

When Grandfather was 92 years old and I was 16 he could easily outrun me, out climb me, out swim me and gather loads more firewood than Rick and I could put together. I often tell people if you couldn’t see his weather wrinkled face, he had the body of what looked like a skinned red squirrel. He was that ripped as the saying goes. That man had far more energy at 90 years old than a 5-year-old on a sugar buzz. To Grandfather there was a huge difference between growing older and aging. Grandfather never slowed down. His actions were more of a 20-year-old than a 90-year-old. To me and in all the years that I’d known him he never seemed to grow old or slow down. Truly he was amazing in so many ways.

Grandfather and I often talked about the process of growing older and in those conversations, he revealed his secrets of staying fit, healthy and mentally sharp for all of his years. Yet it was not only his philosophy on growing older but also the philosophy of the Clan Elders and especially that of the Ancient Scouts. Here in this class I want to teach the way of Grandfather and why his secret to growing older goes beyond diet and exercise which is just a small part of his overall philosophy. At first, I was going to offer this class to those who are 50 years old and above but then I realized that eventually everyone is growing older and the sooner you integrate these practices and teachings into your life the younger you’ll feel. This is truly a great insight into the life of Grandfather on a personal level as well as that of the Ancient Scouts. Over the years I’ve come to realize that this is truly the fabled Fountain of Youth.

This class will run Monday through Friday, November 16th to the 20th, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm EST.
