Advanced Power of Story
I have run the Power of Story class before and I’ve always wanted to take people further into the power, magic, medicine power, myth, and place of story that Grandfather passed down to me. Yes, story is a way of passing down history, teaching vital lessons, and of course entertainment with a purpose. I want to take the Power of Story further than I ever have before, approach it at a different angle and expand on things I’ve already taught. The Art, Power, and Science of Story Telling are following an ancient tradition that reaches back long before all written and even carved pictograph history.
I want to bring in the ancient stories of Grandfathers people, their wanderings, their stories of teaching and enlightenment, and even those that entertain with a greater purpose. I want to teach you what Grandfather taught me, not only to tell a story and relive its power but also to move and inspire all those who listen. I’m especially going to bring into this class the Power of the Coyote teaching and how it becomes the foundation for all stories in all forms.
Note: Before you can volunteer for a class, you must have taken it first. Click here for more information on volunteering.
Volunteers are a vital part of making each class a success. Having graduates of a class available to answer questions and help out in workshops is of tremendous value to current students, and provides a much larger pool of people they can turn to for assistance. As well, volunteers help to prepare and serve meals, head up the student crews and assist Instructors and Interns in lecture and workshop preparation - all of which are essential when it comes to keeping classes running smoothly. And don't forget, whenever you're not needed as a helper, we encourage you to sit in on the lectures and participate in the exercises and workshops. It's a great way to brush up on your skills, or discover what you may have missed the first time around!
