Acute Observation

Many of the more advanced students have heard me frequently use the term Acute Awareness but not the term Acute Observation. This class enters that world of Acute Observation in a very profound and different way, in fact a way that focuses more on the physical reality of us than the more spiritual ways. It is a different approach to observing life around us, covering different forms of stalking and movement, tracking, sign tracking, interconnections and relationships between all things. As Grandfather would say, “many people look but never see, so few ever behold.” It is in that simple quote that is the foundation of the class and the elements that Grandfather taught.

The class will have an intense focus on going beyond the superficial looking, feeling, touching, hearing, tasting and smelling the world around us. It will teach how to take the otherwise mundane and common and turn it into a grand adventure of discovery, shedding the shell of our old habits and observation skills and opening up a vast new arena of understanding and wisdom. Like Grandfather did for me, it will point out the blinders, the assumptions, the learned reactions and ruts that we fall prey to and teach you the way out into a new and wondrous world that surrounds us every day, nature or city, it will all come alive like you’ve never before seen. The skills and techniques that I will teach are the same ones that Grandfather taught me when I was very young which laid the foundation of intense and acute awareness that I have followed through my life. It is all so simple but so profound that you will never see the world the same way again.
