AWARENESS 1August 9-15, 2026Location: Joseph Citta Boy Scout CampPrerequisite: Standard OR Philosophy 1"Grandfather considered awareness to be not only the most important physical skill that one could possess but he also said that it is one of the most important spiritual skills." -TBJ.&nbsp; Awareness was something that Grandfather stressed above any other skill that he taught Tom and Rick.&nbsp; One of the things that was guaranteed everyday Tom and Rick were with Grandfather was a lesson in awareness.&nbsp; In this class we will expand on everything students learn about the foundations of awareness in the standard class,&nbsp;wide angle vision, automatic vision and dead&nbsp;space,&nbsp;the rut, Grandfather's worlds and the sacred silence and of course, what Tom often&nbsp;called "sacred choice".&nbsp; We will immerse ourselves in techniques to read the landscape and the mood and movements of the creatures that move in them.&nbsp; Through this class, students will gain meaningful dirt time in expanding their awareness as it pertains to survival situations, and more importantly for everyday use in life.&nbsp; Grandfather and Tom&nbsp;learned awareness by experiencing nature in a very expansive and also intimate way, and we will be spending much of this class learning awareness as Tom did from Grandfather.
