Tracker School FAQs: Volunteer
I want to volunteer — how
do I do that?
If you would like to apply to volunteer
for a class, go to our Class
Schedule and find the date of the
class for which you would like to volunteer,
click on the “Volunteer For This
Class” link and fill out and submit
the application form. You will receive
an e-mail from our Volunteer Coordinator
to let you know if you have been accepted
to help out at the class. Volunteers are
generally accepted on a first come, first
served basis.
What classes can I volunteer
for?
You can apply to volunteer at any class
that you have previously completed as
a student.
How many classes can I volunteer
for?
There is no limit to the number of classes
for which you can apply as a volunteer,
but please keep in mind that we have many
people who want to help out at classes
— especially Standards. Remember
as well that volunteers are vital to making
a class successful, and if you are accepted
as a volunteer for a class we will be
counting on you to show up. If circumstances
change and you are unable to make the
class, let us know as soon as possible
so someone on the waiting list can be
called in to fill the vacant space.
I haven’t taken any classes,
but I’d still like to volunteer.
Can I do that?
No, you must previously completed a class
as a student before you can apply to volunteer.
What does a Volunteer do?
Volunteers are a vital part of making
each class a success. Having graduates
of a class available to answer questions
and help out in workshops is of tremendous
value to current students, and provides
a much larger pool of people they can
turn to for assistance. As well, volunteers
help to prepare and serve meals, head
up the student crews and assist Instructors
and Interns in lecture and workshop preparation
— all of which are essential when
it comes to keeping classes running smoothly.
And don’t forget, whenever you’re
not needed as a helper, we encourage you
to sit in on the lectures and participate
in the exercises and workshops. It’s
a great way to brush up on your skills,
or discover what you may have missed the
first time around!
